I was always wondering that why Chinese people’s life is like to survive? It’s been more than a month talking and debating with a new friend (from China) about different subjects, today I mentioned Mark Twain’s quote that says “The two most important days in your life are the day you’re born and the day you find out why” and he replied that this looks philosophical statement and I hate such deep meaning. That’s it! the moment to ask him is it only you or most of Chinese people think the same way? I did and he said “I don’t know”. Missed it :p Then I asked don’t you study any philosophy or similar subject in school? he said yes, only 1 subject called “Philosophy -of- Marx”. Then I realised “Oh maybe that’s why you hate it, so this applies to every Chinese student. They never get to know the real meaning of philosophy; He confirmed that Chinese people just think about how to make more money and go higher in their level.
To me, this is pathetic that if somebody don’t go beyond the reality and materialism and stick to boring and tough living environment. The good point is they won’t spend time for it, actually they don’t have such minutes to waste. I watched a documentary from BBC showing Chinese people suffering in fast growing environment. The bulldozers came next to houses and told them to get out of the house now and then they knocked down all of the buildings WITHOUT A PRIOR NOTICE, what the heck? There was another scene that I remember which showing an old woman living with a young girl whose parent where living in another city which is 11 hours of travelling by bus. They meet each other only once a year, what the heck? AND this is VERY COMMON in China.
